Mildred Woodward, age 92, Harrodsburg, widow of Sewell Woodward, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1916 in Winchester, TN, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Minnie Lee Laws Hawkersmith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burgin Baptist Chrurch and the WMU. Survivors include: three sons: David Woodward of Harrodsburg, Lowell Propes of Knoxville, TN, Charles Woodward of Hustonville, KY, one brother: Charles Henry Hawkersmith, Jr. of Rutledge, TN; two step sons: Dr. Sewell Woodward of Wilmore, KY; and Ray Woodward of FL; a step daughter: Gracie Smart of Lexington, KY; twelve grandchidren, and fifteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son: Alvin Clifford Woodward. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 30 at the Burgin Baptist Church by Rev. Carl McCray and Rev. Ray Woodward. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers: David Douglas Woodward, Timothy Paul Woodward, Matthew Woodward, Bradley Woodward, Timothy David Woodward, Mark Woodward and Patrick Branam. Visitation will be Saturday, November 29 from 4-8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, and Sunday 9:30 AM till 12 noon and after 1:00 PM at the Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Gideons International, P.O. Box 176, Harrodsburg, KY 40330 - or - Burgin Baptist WMU Endowment Fund.
