Frances Speer, age 86, Harrodsburg, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born December 28, 1921 in Clifton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna La Pierre Martin. She was an acclaimed florist in New York and New Jersey and held a bachelors degree in Gerontology from Madonna College in Lavonia, Michigan. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, KY. Frances also operated a Bed and Breakfast (Dowling Hall) in Lawrenceburg for several years.
Survivors include: a daughter: Laurel Anne Kudla of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren: Douglas (Shawna) Green; Jennifer (Freddie) Maggard; Tracy Green; two foster granddaughters: Amber Bretz; and Brittany Walker; four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 30 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Father Danny Schwendeman with burial in the , Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
