Dartha B. Dorothy Ward, age 90, Harrodsburg, widow of Stanley Randolph "Burky" Ward, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born April 13, 1918 in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Flossie Bera (Johnson) Yocum. She was a homemaker, a farm wife and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church where she served as secretary for many years.
Dorthy is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters: Sally Yocum Phillips, Della Gash and a brother: Rufus Yocum.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by John David Lane. Burial will be in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Don Stiglich, Joe D. Wilson, Delbert Reynolds, David Moore, Billy Barker and Paul Wayne Peavler.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 27 from 12 Noon until the hour of service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
