Obituary of Helen Louise Sparrow

Helen Louise Sparrow, age 83, wife of John Bruce Sparrow, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the McDowell Place, Danville, KY. Born September 27, 1925 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Arvin Wilmont and Pearl Pilcher Baker. She was a former clerk at Sutherland Pharmacy and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for more than fifty years and had served on the Baptist Foundation Board for several years. Survivors include: her husband: John Bruce Sparrow, two daughters, Sharon (Berry) Shewmaker of Harrodsburg, and Angie (Brian) Shurr of Somerset; two sons, John (Cathy) Sparrow of Lebanon, and Rick (Linda) Sparrow of Louisville; two sisters, Dolly Mullins of Danville, and Ruth Bullock of IN, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 6, 2008, at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church by Dr. Robert Defoor. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday, January 5th, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Chris, Matt, and Bruce Sparrow, Todd Shewmaker, Josh Butler, and Robert Golden.
