Aaron Mobley, age 64, Harrodsburg, husband of Phyllis Shackelford Mobley, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born October 15, 1944 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Hallis Mobley and Gladys Perkins Morris. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church. Aaron was better known for his passion for motor sports, mainly pulling trucks. He had been a member of the Lucas Oil Pro Truck Pullers League and owner and driver of the “Mad Dog” pulling truck for 30 years. Aaron was also instrumental at the Mercer County Fair where he was the Senior Advisor to the Motor Sports Program Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis (Shackelford) Mobley; two sons, David (Shaundra) Mobley and Jay Mobley both of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Samantha Mobley of Louisville; stepchildren, Stefanie (Justin) Mason of Niota, TN, Chad and Wesley Gilvin of Harrodsburg; one sister, Roxie Jackson of Harrodsburg, KY; and two brothers, Curtis Mobley of FL, Donnie Mobley of Harrodsburg, KY. He was predeceased by a wife Janice Riley Mobley. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM, Friday, January 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Keith Katterheinrich. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Art Freeman, Kerry Anness, Joe Perkins, Steve Sanders, Robert Brown, Freddie Brown and Jack Coleman. Honorary Bearers are: Joe Wilson, Lee Wilson, LeMayne Ellis, Ricky Keller, Woody Holt, Frankie Reed, Chris Record. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22 after 5:00 PM and Friday prior to service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
