HOUSTON L. ROBERTSON
Houston L. Robertson, age 59, of 1215 Stratton Road, husband of Virginia Sue Stratton Robertson, died Saturday, October 25, 2003 as a result of a farm accident. Born January 31, 1944 in Perry County, he was the son of Alma McGuffey, Danville, and the late Floyd Robertson, Sr. He was retired from Kentucky State Government having worked for the Cabinet of Human Resources Department of Medicade, was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the National Rifle Association, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother and wife, include four sons, Douglas Carter, Manchester, Houston Lee Robertson, Jr., Louisville, Bobby Glenn Matherly, New Paltz, NY, and William Daniel Matherly, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Laura Lynn Ciak, Kinston, NC and Kimberly Sue Walker, Harrodsburg; three brothers, Floyd Robertson, Jr., Danville, William Robertson, Stanford, and Roger Robertson, Danville; two sisters, Sheila Adams, Danville, and Barbara McGlone, Lancaster; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. David Culp. Burial will be in the Stratton Cemetery in Mercer County with Military Rites.
Pallbearers will be Kevin and Kyle Lyons, Danny Matherly, David and Tim Robertson, Preston Hansford, Brad and Brian Adams, and Brandon McGlone. Honorary bearers will be Orville Butts, Joshua Foster, Kevin Hansford, Kenneth Wilson, Tony Carter, Jeff Stamper, and Elsie Hopper.
Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Monday and after 7:30 am Tuesday at the chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to ones favorite charity.
