Fayette Owsley Ritchey, 66, died at his home, Monday, April 6, with his wife and family by his side. Ritchey is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Priss, a daughter, Wendy (Patrick) McBride, two step daughters, Kristie (Brian) Bartley, and Wendie (Fred) Austin-Robinson, a step son, Luke Austin, a grandson, Andy McBride, a step granddaughter, Madeline Bartley, two step grandsons, Austin Bartley and Tyler Austin, and a niece, Debbie (Dave) Howard. Ritchey was the son of the late Kay Walsh Ritchey Lunger and Henry Snow Ritchey, and the step son of the late Irvin Lunger. Ritchey was a retired police sergeant of the Lexington Police Department. He loved to fish, read, talk and visit with friends, and go antiquing, especially to find any Gulf Oil memorabilia due to his father’s work with that company. Ritchey was a member of the Central Christian Church, Lexington. Visitation will be Wednesday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel from 5 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday at the chapel with burial in the Burgin Memorial Gardens.
