Marvin Montgomery, age 86, Harrodsburg, widower of Beulah Frances Roberts Montgomery, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born March 8, 1923 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Thomas Shelton and Eliza Jane (Scott) Montgomery. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund or the American Heart Association. Survivors include: three daughters: Donna (Donnie) Tatum, Barbara (Joe) Hawkins, Edna (Henry) Gross and two sons: Carroll (Trudy) Montgomery, Kenton (Jewell) Montgomery; two sisters: Surene Devine of Somerset, KY, Ida Mae Leonard of New Castle, KY; Sister-in-Law, Christine Montgomery of Harrodsburg, KY; Fifteen Grandchildren; Twenty-three Great Grandchildren; Three Great Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces & Nephews. Marvin was predeceased by two brothers, Scott & Harold Montgomery and a sister, Elizabeth Boswell. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Monday, April 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Brett Travis and Carl McCray. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Terry Lynn Montgomery, Johnny Lawrence Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Scott Hawkins, David Hawkins, Dewayne Tatum, Khris Montgomery, Duane Gross, Adam H. Montgomery, Brian Thomas Gross, Denise T. Motley, Rebecca J. Underwood, Vickie C. Lay, Kimberly McCowan and Katie Gross. Visitation will be Sunday, April 26 after 5 pm and Monday prior to the service.
