John Machal, age 74, Harrodsburg, husband of Roberta Phillips Machal, died Friday at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.Born November 21, 1934 in Rockcastle Co., KY, he was the son of the late J. G. and Sarah Cox Machal. He was manager of Kentucky Finance for some thirty years and was a partner in the Machal Tax Service for thirty years. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Christian Church, the new Beginnings Sunday School Class, the Spirit Lifters and was a Kentucky Colonel.Survivors other than his wife include: four daughters, Judy Curtis of Midway, Cindy (Randy) LeMay of Lexington, Teri Giles and Chrisi (David) Burton both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Virginia "Sis" Machal of Mt Vernon, and three brothers: Bobby (Betty) Machal of Mt Vernon, Paul Ray (Kathleen) Machal of Harrodsburg, Chock (Joyce) Machal of Mt Vernon; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Machal.Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, May 25, at the Carpenter's Christian Church by Greg Warren and Rob Clark. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary bearers will be Bob and Brenda Brown, Delmer and Phyllis Warren, Curtis and Dianne Sims, and Bill and Alice Montgomery.Visitation will be Sunday, May 24 from 5-8pm at the Church, and prior to service Monday at the church.Memorial contributions may be sent to Carpenter's Christian Church
