Obituary of Wilma H. Smith

Wilma Henderman Smith, age 82, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born November 18, 1926 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ben E. and Elizabeth (Fenley) Henderman. Wilma lived in Jefferson County until 2000 when she moved to Harrodsburg. She traveled the country as a cost accountant for National Distilleries and was later a Procedures Auditor for American Mutual; Wilma was one of the fastest women to achieve the One Million Mile Club for Delta Airlines. After retirement, Wilma played a lot of Bridge and opened a Yarn store and later her daughter, Linda, became a successful Fiber Artist. Wilma was an active member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church where she was a regular at the Men’s Bakery Auction. Survivors include: a daughter: Linda (Steven) Oglesby of Harrodsburg, KY; a brother: David (Beth) Henderman of Louisville, KY. Funeral services will be conducted by Mark Thompson, 7:30 PM, Tuesday, June 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. A Graveside Service will be in the Jeffersontown Cemetery, Billtown Road in Louisville at 11 am Wednesday, June 24. Pallbearers are: Jim Hogue, Bill Brinkley, Cindy Gilkison, Kyle Henderman, Joseph Treadway and David Henderman. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23 from 5 - 7:30 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
