Obituary of Madelyn Gayle Flynn

Gayle Schuler Flynn, 71, wife of Norris “Chigger” Flynn, of Harrodsburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lillie Rankin Schuler. Gayle was a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington, where she was a cheerleader, and attended the University of Kentucky, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She worked in the UK Statistics Department, Locker Room Sporting Goods, Lexington Federal Savings and Loan, and worked alongside Chigger in his insurance agency. Gayle was a devoted wife, happily married for 52 years. She was a wonderful, loving, caring mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of the Carpenter’s Christian Church where she faithfully served as the Vice President of the Willing Hands ladies group. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin lee Flynn. Other survivors include: two daughters, Karen Flynn Travis (Chesapeake, VA), Amy Flynn Aubrey and her husband Ben (Midway, KY), four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Visitation and funeral will be held at the Carpenter’s Christian Church. Visitation, Tues., July 7th, 5-8 pm. Funeral, Wed., 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Carpenter’s Christian Church in Gayle’s memory.
