Donald Ray Peavler, age 74, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born June 5, 1935 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Willis Dole and Leona Gritton Peavler. He was a retired employee of B & B Electrical Contractors and Hoosher Engineering Co. Donald was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and Mercer Masonic Lodge # 777 F & AM, as well as the Olieka Shrine Temple. Survivors include: two sons: Donald Wayne Pealver, and Craig Peavler of Harrodsburg, four brothers: J.B. Peavler of OH; Marvin Peavler of Danville, Lawrence Peavler of Harrodsburg, and Edward “Red” Peavler of Florida, and two sisters: Irene Hicks of Harrodsburg, and Helen Isham of Springfield, and 5 grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons: Dale and Gary Peavler, a daughter: Jo Ella Peavler, three sisters: Thelma, Sarah Ella and Jewell, three brothers: Leon, Willis Earl and Condit and two grandchildren. Funeral services 11 am Tuesday at the Fellowship Baptist Church by Hillary Claypoole and Harley Humfleet officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, with Masonic Rites. Visitation at the Church after 9:00 am Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Pallbearers: David Peavler, Roger Dale Peavler, Brent Steele, Terry Steele, Jay Peavler, Shari Gash, Wanda Alford and Gene Votaw. Honorary bearers: David Proctor, Bill Pointer, Gene Lawson, John Hawes, and Kenneth Meredith. Memorial contributions may be sent to Shriner's Children Hospital or the Ray Peavler Scholarship Fund- C/O Mercer Co. Schools.
