Penny Lapinski, age 69, Harrodsburg, widow of William T. Maltby and Robert Lapinski, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born June 19, 1940 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Alice Hayes Adams the late Reginald Pellow. She was a pedigree researcher for the United Thoroughbred Trainer Association, worked for the HBPA; Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association and was a former NHRA Drag Racer.
Survivors include: her mother: Alice Hayes Adams; three daughters: Charlotte Lapinski and Kelly Maltby of Harrodsburg, KY and Andrea (Michael) Roll of Rochester Hills, MI; one sister: Pam Boegler of Howell, MI; Brother In Law, Keith Hallett of MI; two Nephews, Bill (Sue) Hallett of Clarksten, MI and Jimmy Makidon of Washington , DC; Special Friend, Melvin Kendrick of Lexington, KY.
A memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later date. There are no local services planned at this time.
