Loraine Sheperson Burns, age 100, 201 Benton St., Burgin, widower of James Ira Burns Sr., died Thurs., August 20, 2009, at her home.Born February 10, 1909 in Boyle Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late J. L. and Addie (Owens) Sheperson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bohon Church of Christ.Survivors include: three daughters: Joyce J. (Bill) Wickersham of New Salisbury, IN, Vanda Barker of Lexington, KY, Glenda (Jerry) Gray of Burgin, KY; one son: Jim (Barbara) Burns of Burgin, KY; two sisters: Mollie Carey of Lexington, KY, and Isabelle Cummins of Solina, TN; one brother: Wallace Sheperson of Harrodsburg, KY; several nieces and nephews; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.; and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam & Robert Sheperson, and one sister, Sada Carey.Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Julius Hovan with burial will be in the Bohon Church Of Christ Cemetery, Harrodsburg.Pallbearers are Gerald Sheperson, Mike Sheperson, David Bruner, Michael Bruner, Bruce Carey, and David Wade. Honorary bearers are grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Saturday, August 22nd, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.Memorial contributions may be sent to Haggin Home Health, 464 Linden Ave., Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
