Thomas Shuck
Thomas Shuck, age 79, 105 Sunset Dr., Hustonville, husband of Maureen Theresa McDonnell Shuck, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born March 25, 1930 in Mercer Co., KY, he was the son of the late John Alfreda and Edna Florence (Huffman) Shuck. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War where he was the Chief Flight Mechanic for the first Jet Ace pilot in Korea, and was a retired Aerospace Engineer for Rockwell International, having worked on the Apollo and Space Shuttle projects. He was a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ, the American Legion, the NRA, and he attended Campbellsville College and was a graduate of the Univ. of Kentucky. Thomas was an avid golfer (experiencing a hole-in-one), gardener, and UK sports fan.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Julia Ann Kiker of CA, Sharon Helene Cossentine of Danville, KY, Kara Danielle Shuck of Memphis, TN; one sister, Agnes Stockdale of Kokomo, IN; five brothers, Frankie Shuck of Versailles, KY, Razz Shuck of Versailles, KY, William Shuck of Lawrenceburg, KY, Bobby Shuck, and Edward Shuck; half-sister: Edna Mae Shuck and four grandchildren: Robert Thomas Kiker, Caitlin Arndt, Audrey Beth Cossentine, and Amanda Brady. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry & Jimmy Shuck. and half-brother Roy Shuck.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 10 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Jeff Johnson with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers will be: Frankie Shuck, Razz Shuck, Leon Lambert, Phil Cossentine, Steve Henehen, Steve Shuck and Bob Kiker
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
