FLOYD WINFORD GODBEY


Floyd Winford Godbey, age 77, of 409 Falcon Court, Harrodsburg, husband of Alma Frances Tate Godbey died Friday, October 31, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Cooper Drive in Lexington. Born July 6, 1926 in Liberty, KY, he was the son of the late Joseph Nim and Matrie Wesley Godbey. He was a self-employed farmer, a US Army veteran of WW II, a member of the VFW and a member of the Baptist Church.


Survivors in addition to his wife include, two daughters Janet and her husband Virgil “Bud” Milton, Harrodsburg and Evelyn and her husband David White, of Lancaster; two brothers, Delmer Ray Godbey, of Frankfort and Velmer Lee Godbey, of Lawrenceburg; 4 grandchildren, Mark White, Bonnie Milton, Cathy White and Nick White; 3 great-grandchildren, Anthony White, Chase White and Dakota Milton. He was preceded in death by his step-father Dutch Kinder and by two brothers and three sisters.


Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Everett Priddy and Jimmy Reynolds. Burial will be in the Danville Memorial Gardens, Stanford Road in Danville with military rites.


Pallbearers will be Mark, Evelyn, David, Cathy, and Nick White and Bonnie Milton.


Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Sunday and after 7:30 am Monday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Up With Youth at Hyattsville Baptist Church or to one’s favorite charity.
