Obituary of Lee Roy Prewitt

Lee Roy Prewitt, 85, Liberty, KY, widower of Loraine Smith Prewitt, died Monday, September 14, 2009 in Clyde, North Carolina. Born April 6, 1924 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Zelbert “Jack” and Dora Phillips Prewitt. He was a WWII Navy veteran and Purple Heart recipient, and was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church. He was the owner and founder of Liberty Auto Parts and Garrard Automotive Supply; Past President and director of the Farmers Deposit Bank in Middleburg; Co-Founder and Past President of Hickory Hills Country Club, Liberty; and Past President of the Liberty-Casey County Economic Development Authority. Survivors include: a son, Jack Prewitt, Liberty; a brother, Harold P. “Pete” Prewitt, Danville; and several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Friday, September 18 at the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church by Andy and Stephanie Wing. Burial with military honors will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 10 AM Friday at the First Christian Church, Liberty, KY. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, September 17, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church.
