Obituary of Sara Virginia Allison

Sara V. Allison, age 69, Harrodsburg, KY passed away at home on November 13, 2009.
Sara was born November 28, 1939 in Harrodsburg, to the late James Warder and Margaret Gentry Allison.
Survivors include: her Life Partner, Sandra Silver; two sisters, Beth Minassian (John), Mary Ellen Allison and three brothers: James Allison (Elizabeth), Jr., Richard Allison (Deborah), John Allison (Carolyn); three nieces, Leigh Schaefer (Fred), Michelle Moreland (Jack), and Hanna Allison; five nephews, Armen Minassian (Amy), Allen Minassian (Nicole), Rick Allison, Chris Walls (Kristin) and Phillip Allison. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Allison and a nephew, Officer Billy Walls.
A lifelong resident of Harrodsburg; Sara graduated from Harrodsburg High School in 1958, the University of Kentucky in 1962 and New York University in 1965 with a Masters in social Work. She was a retired therapist and team leader with Bluegrass Regional Mental Health & Retardation Board.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. November 19, 2009 with services 11 a.m. November 20, 2009. Both will be held at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg.
Donations are suggested to the Albert B. Allison Endowed Scholarship Fund at Eastern KY University, (521 Lancaster Ave., CPO 19A, Richmond, KY 40475) or the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross.
