Obituary of James Edward Neal

James Edward Neal, Sack Pappy, 88, Salvisa, husband of Mary Ellen Crawley Neal, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his home in Salvisa.
Born July 8, 1921 in Winchester, KY, he was the son of the late Donald and Jenny (Eads) Neal. He served during World War II in the Navy. He was a retired farmer and employee of Kentucky State University.
Survivors include: his wife: Mary Ellen (Crawley) Neal, four daughters: Joyce Bast of Salvisa, Patsy Scholtz of Danville, Sandy Terhune of Harrodsburg, Janie Ellen Stratton of Lawrenceburg, and one son: Joe Edward Neal of Salvisa, 32 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three Sons: Luther Gene Neal, Thomas Glenn Neal and Donald Lee Neal.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Monday, December 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Quentin Scholtz. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Ben Stratton, Buddy Terhune, Tony Bast, Randy Scholtz, Brandon Stratton, and Billy Joe Cornelius. Honorary Bearers are: Joe Neal, Grandsons, Granddaughters and Great Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, December 14 from 10 am - 2 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice or the Charity of One's Choice.
