Russell Poynter, age 75, Harrodsburg, husband of Mazie Reynolds Poynter, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born March 17, 1934 in Plato, KY, to the late David and Gracie (Nicely) Poynter. He was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of the Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include: his wife: Mazie (Reynolds) Poynter, three daughters: Carolyn (Randle) Fields of London, Barbara (David) Osborne of Mt Vernon, Tammy (Mike) Baker of Harrodsburg, and a son: Jeff (Susan) Poynter of Harrodsburg; one sister: Velma (Keith) Norton and one brother: Waker (Bessie) Poynter both of Somerset; Daughter-in-law, Terri Poynter of Harrodsburg; Ten Grandchildren; Four great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces & Nephews. Russell was predeceased by a son,David Russell Poynter and two brothers, Roy & Robert Poynter.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Monday, January 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Larry Holbrook. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Randle Fields, David Osborne, Richard Kirby, Dennis Fields, Garret Payne and Kevin Todd. Honorary bearers are: Logan Poynter, Heather Garrison, Leslie Fields, Jonathan McKinney, Gracie Arnold, Ryan Fields, Tripp Fields, Aaron Todd, Jaicey Todd and Iris Todd
Visitation will be Sunday, January 24 from 5 - 8 PM and Monday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
