Zelma S. McGinnis, age 101, 425 W. Office St., Harrodsburg, widow of William "Bill" McGinnis, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born September 27, 1908 in Washington Co., she was the daughter of the late Claude and Joanna (Brown) Sims. She was a retired Mercer County Elementary School Teacher and was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. Survivors include: one brother, Dewitt (Eva) Sims of Harrodsburg, KY; four nieces, Lucille Hendren, Brenda Keck, Betty Sims, and Gayl Perry; two nephews, Doyle Sims and Bruce Sims. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Mark Thompson with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Darin Sims, Bruce Sims, Kevin Horn, Tim Ellis, Chad Ellis and Myron Ellis Honorary Bearers are: John Hawes, Kenneth Meredith, Curtis Sims, Donnie Sims, Norman White, Ronnie Sims, Tim Taviner, Danny Chilton, Paul Cummins, Joe Hood, Bill Montgomery and Garland Yankey Visitation will be Monday, February 1, from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
