Jessie P. Devine, age 86, W. Main St., Burgin, widow of Elza Devine, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born March 23, 1923 in Mercer Co., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Louise (Lyons) Pittman. She had worked at the former Ideal Laundry and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where attended the Sunshine Sunday School Class. Survivors include: four daughters, Hazel (Donald Ray) Baker of Harrodsburg, KY, Mary Preston of Danville, KY, Violet (Lewis) Carey of Burgin, Mamie (Thomas) Carey of Lancaster,; three sons, Billy (Carol) Devine of Danville, Ralph Devine of Burgin, Bobby (Pat) Devine of Gravel Switch,; three sisters, Alice Baker of Harrodsburg, Irene Baker of Harrodsburg, and Gladys Ransdell of Salvisa; two brothers, Jimmy Pittman and Clarence Pittman, Jr. both of Harrodsburg; 17 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 grandchildren and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Kenny Queener and Travis Halltop, with burial in the Burgin Memorial Garden, Burgin. Visitation will be Friday, February 26 from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers: Rodney Raley, Gary Dearing, John Stein, Carl Watts, Lee Shannon, Chris Devine, and Aaron Raley. Honorary bearers: Thomas Carey, Jr., Bobby Devin, Jr., Jimmy Carey, Darrell Dearing, Mike Hume, Sr., and members of the Sunshine Sunday School Class.
