Obituary of Mary V. Newton

Mary V. Newton, age 81, Harrodsburg, wife of John Newton, died Saturday at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg. Born June 17, 1928 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Woodson William and Mary M. Vaughn. She was a retired teacher from the Harrodsburg Independent Schools and had taught in the Madison County district. She was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and was active in the Harrodsburg Historical Society in years past. Survivors include: her husband: John Newton, two daughters: Betsy (Bruce) Newton Gillespie of Lancaster, Mary Anna (Curry) Woods of Bel Air, MD; Four Grandchildren, Jessica G. Hagan, John Gillespie, Anna Woods and Luke Woods A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date
