Bruce Dart posted a condolence

Hi, While I did not know Richard, it's likely that my grandfather did and we were distantly related, especially that he was born in Wellsboro. The Dartt spelling with two "t's" came from Col. Justus Dartt who served in the Revolutionary War and came from Castleton, VT to settle on the Charleston Road outside Wellsboro in 1811. It is said that the second "t" came from a government citation that misspelled the name and he liked it and kept it. We are descended from Richard Dart who came from England to New London, Ct in 1644. My relatives, some of them, changed the spelling to Dort and my grandfather Hiram lived in Wellsboro around the time Richard did. My father spelled the name Dart and my grandfather went back and forth with the spelling. Hiram "Hike" Dort passed away in 1966 and my father H. Douglas Dart in 2012. There still is a Dartt Settlement where Justus and family settled those many years ago. Doug was born in 1924.
Best wishes
Bruce Dart

Our sympathies to the Dartt family as you celebrate the life of a wonderful man who was a friend and blessing to so many in his years of life. Mr. and Mrs. Dartt were both wonderful examples of Christian love, giving, sharing and sacrifice. He was a special friend to the Rightmyers for many years, and the home on Beaumont is more than just a building. You will no doubt miss his physical presence, but you have wonderful memories to cherish and give you peace, and a big smile when you remember Mr. Richard Dartt. Blessings to you in days ahead.

This truly is a sad time for all his family and friends but we can rejoice knowing where he is and where he will be when we are once again united.
Dick and I worked together for sometime and I will always remember our many conversations. He was always fair, a detail oriented man that had a ton of common sense. Wish there were more like him.
I sincerely apologize for not being able to attend the funeral but both Betty Jo and I have lost much of our mobility and what few trips we make are to the doctors.
Our deepest condolences
God Bless you all.

I was saddened to hear that Mr. Dartt passed away. I always had great admiration for him and wanted to offer my sincere condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I know that giving up a loved one, especially a parent, is never easy but I know Mr. Dartt is in a better place now and will continue to live on in our memories. I still have many fond memories of our rabbit hunting days when Ricky and I were much younger.
