Obituary of Norma Jean VanGorp
Norma Jean VanGorp, 87, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of Lyle VanGorp, died Friday at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Born 9/10/1930, in Des Moines, IA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and the late Marion (Titus) Shelton.
She was a Homemaker and member of the Indian Hills Christian Church.
Norma is survived by: one daughter, Gloria (Mike) Dargavell of Louisville, KY; one son, Gary (Peggy) Van Gorp of Harrodsburg, KY; three sisters, Betty Smith, Mary Lou Tartar, and Joy Owens, all of Iowa; five brothers, Howard Shelton, Bobby Shelton, Jimmy Shelton, and David Shelton, all of Iowa, and Carl (Joan) Shelton of AR; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Richard, And Iva Mae Shelton.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon until hour of service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Jim Cooper. Entombment will follow in the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, Nicholasville.
Pallbearers will be: Jesse Bunyard, Danny Woods, Austin LouAllen, Hunter Preston, Zachary Murphy, & Grant Marshall.
The family request memorial donations be sent to Indian Hills Christian Church, Celebrate Recovery Fund, 1200 Lexington Rd., Danville, KY 40422.
