Obituary of Susan J. Stiles
Susan J. Stiles, 91, Harrodsburg, KY, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Haggin-Ephraim McDowell Hospital, Harrodsburg.
Born January 24, 1927, in Jefferson Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late A. H. and Armeata (Winsky) Stiles. Susan graduated from Jeffersontown High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War for two years. She later received her BA and MA degrees from the University of Kentucky and went on to teach at the Old Lexington School and Tates Creek High School for thirty-three years before retiring. Following retirement, Susan divided her time between her Herrington Lake home and Pine Island, FL.
Survivors include: her niece, Meta Sue Thayer of Sugar Land, TX; and her nephew, Samuel Perrien of NC., special friend Linda King of Burgin.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be 12:30 PM Monday, August 27, 2018, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery by Father Roy Stiles.
