Obituary of Don Cole
Donald L. Cole, 99, Harrodsburg, widower of Jean Brown Cole, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at the Ephraim McDowell - James B Haggin Hospital, Harrodsburg.
Born July 23, 1920, in Mercer Co., he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Lillie (Allen) Cole. Don was a retired sales rep for Intercollegiate & John Roberts Co., a 30 year employee of the former State Bank & Trust, and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He was also an active member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, was an Oleika Shriner, a member of Mercer Masonic Lodge 777 F&AM, a former UK Baseball player, and an avid golfer.
Survivors include: three daughters, Nancy (Neil) Hadley of Wilmington, NC, Marguerite Cole of Asheville, NC and Donna Keys of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren, Sonny, Kelly, & Erin Keys, Camille (Ceamus) Corbett, and Jennifer (Clay) Wright, and Hunter (Ashley) Corbett; five great grandchildren, Madison Wright, Camdyn Emerson, Fionn McDermott, Isla & Silas Corbett; his special companion, Tippy Cole.
Funeral services 2 PM, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Allen Gibson. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until hour of service Sunday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Hunter Corbett, Dick Parsons, Dixon, Chuck, and Nick Dedman, and Mike Matherly. Honorary: Art Freeman.
