William Lyman Marks, 72, Lancaster, husband of Josephine "Jo" Meazel Marks, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019. Born May 24, 1947, in Harlan, KY, he was the son of the late Dr. Robert and Leota (Burley) Marks. He was a retired Electronic Technician for Windstream, and had worked for AT&T several years. He was also an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Patriot Guard, Garrard County Fire Dept. District # 1, and was former Chief of the Burgin Fire Dept. He also was a volunteer for Sadie's Safe Harbor Canine Rescue. Survivors other than his wife include: one brother, Robert Marks of Cumberland Gap, TN; Nieces, Laura & Alison. William was preceded in death by his Sister, Lynn Pittman. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: David Beams, Donnie Sexton, Brad Gilvin, Sonny Thompson, Russ Clark, and Brian Oaks. Gleason Wells will serve as Honorary Bearer. Graveside service with military rites will be held 11 AM, Monday, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery by Michael Denney. The family request memorial donations be sent to Sadie's Safe Harbor Canine Rescue, P. O.
