Ruby married a cousin of mine many years ago, and I have known her since I was a small child. We lost touch for a few years, but grew much closer as friends when I saw her and corresponded with her when she submitted stories to the local newspaper's monthly magazine. We renewed family memories from years past, enjoyed lunch together at times, sometimes with my sister and mother. But, the single most important memory of Ruby that I cherish is her undying faith in God and the beautiful prayers she prayed. After I retired, we talked often via email, and Ruby always had the right words to comfort me during sad times. Her children are my second cousins, and my prayers and thoughts are with them and their families. Ruby was a beautiful, sweet, kind lady who will be missed by many.

I was very sorry to hear about Miss Ruby passing.
She was a sweet, kind, caring, true Southern lady.
She was a dear, life-long friend to my Mother (Wilma Robinson). They spent many happy afternoons together having lunch, going to tea or perhaps shopping. They loved getting together. My Mother spoke so highly of Ruby.
Miss Ruby, without a doubt, had a gift for writing. She brought back many "Precious Memories". I, along with many people, I'm sure, loved reading her articles of growing up in the Mercer area.
One of my favorite pictures of Ruby is her standing in front of the Eifel Tower. The picture had to be from sometime in the 50's. She was wearing a large hat and stylish dress. She looked liked she had just stepped out of a photo shoot of Vogue magazine. I think that picture captured her zeal for life.
Above all, Ruby was a strong Christian woman. She knew that death holds no victory over the Christian.
Ruby never needed a lot of sleep. You could call her anytime, she was always up. She said that she had always been that way. Only needing a couple of hours. She is now able to sleep and rest.
With deepest sympathy,
Rita Robinson Griffin

Ruby was a dear and special friend and also a classmate of mine. She was a very special lady and we always loved having her to drive up from Glendale to meet with our group of classmates. She will be missed by all of us. RIP my dear friend. Love, Irene

I will never forget Ruby’s generosity and sweet spirit. I stayed at Ruby’s home following John and Janice’s wedding. I’m not sure what surprised her more my love of sweets or ability to sleep. Ruby will be missed by all but she is home with her parents and Joe smiling and watching over us.
