Karen Sue Peavler, 64, Harrodsburg, KY, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at her home. Born April 25, 1956, in Port Clinton, OH, she was the daughter of Jean (VanHorn) Smith, Pemberville, OH, and the late Charles William Smith. She was a retired Teacher and Counselor for the Danville Christian Academy and Mercer Co. Central Schools. Karen was also a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, where she was in the Choir, Praise Band, and a Pianist. Other survivors include: two sons, Justin (Beci) Peavler of Lawrenceburg, KY and Kevin Peavler of Harrodsburg, KY; two brothers, Ron (Barb) Smith of Genoa, OH and Phil (Janet) Smith of Perrysburg, OH; she also has one grandchild, Ella Peavler of Lawrenceburg, KY; four nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, William Ray Peavler. Funeral services 11 AM, Sat., Feb. 27, 2021, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Duane Kemerley, Allen Gibson, and Garland Hawkins. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, Ransdell's. Pallbearers: Kevin & Justin Peavler, Phil & Ron Smith, Natalie & Rochelle Smith and Rylee & Nicole Smith. Memorials are suggested to: Danville Christian Academy, 2170 Shakertown Rd, Danville, KY 40422, or the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, 128 S Chiles St, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
