Obituary of John Raphael Hadnagy

Fr. John Raphael Hadnagy, 63, Harrodsburg, KY, died Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at his home. Born February 28, 1959, in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Carl and Catherine Mary (Lomanto) Hadnagy Sr.. J. R. was currently serving as the Priest of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Harrodsburg. He was a graduate of St. Louis Univ., and received his Master’s Degree in Divinity from Washington Theological Union. J. R. was member of the Conventual Franciscans (OFM Conv) and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include: one sister, A. Michele (Chip) Humphreys of Woodbridge, VA; two brothers, Joseph Carl (Yvonne) Hadnagy Jr. of FL and Michael J. (Marcel) Hadnagy of NC; five nieces, Amanda, Matalin, & Mikhaila Hadnagy, and Elizabeth Humphreys and Caroline (Ethan Johnson) Humphreys. A Catholic Funeral Mass is planned for 11 AM, Thurs., June 23, 2022, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, by Bishop John Stowe, Celebrant Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic. A Wake Service will be held at 7pm on Friday, June 24, in the Chapel at Mount St. Francis, Indiana, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial the next morning, Saturday, June 25, at 11am, with interment following the Mass.
