I did not know Sam very long but what I enjoyed about him is that he always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
He was so fortunate to have Suzie in his
life.
My thoughts and prayers go with you Susie and your family.

Sam was my closest in age cousin -- just five months older. Growing up, I both admired him and "got a kick" out of his sense of humor. Looking back, he was never quite as funny as he thought he was, but that was part of his charm, I guess. He would say something that he considered to be funny, and then he'd make this strange sound in the back of his throat that sounded something like a frog -- just to make sure you realized how funny comment was. :) Since our family was from West Virginia, it was also a special treat whenever we got to see Sam, who lived in that faraway land of Kentucky. I largely lost track of Sam in adulthood, but I cherished those memories of childhood. I knew that although Sam struggled quite a bit with physical illness in his later years, he was full of life. I also knew his family loved him and cared for him. I knew mostly of his sister Susie's dedication, care, and love for him. I was blessed to get to spend a little time with Sam and Susie at my sister's house in Florida this past February. Sammy spoke of his love of coaching football and baseball and of his dreams of moving to Florida. I expected to see him there again, but I'll have to see him (and my sister Debby) next in Heaven. What a Glorious Day that will be!! So much Love and Sympathy for Susie and the rest of Sam's family. May God cover you all in His Peace which passeth all understanding.
