Chuck and Debbie, We are so sorry for your loss. Tom and Betty were are dear friends and neighbors and we have such great memories with them, Betty Jo talked about her family a lot, but was so sad after losing Tom, so now she is with him and is happy. For that I’m happy for her. But I know it’s hard for you all. My thoughts and prayers for you!

To Chuck and Debbie, and all the family, you have my sincere sympathy for your loss. Betty Jo was not only a friend but my first cousin. We lived across the road from Betty Jo and her mom and dad. I'm 4 years younger than she, so for a while when I was small, I remember getting her hand-me-down clothes. I was always so tickled with them. She had the nicest clothes. We didn't have a TV set, so when I got home from school in the afternoons, I would go over to her house and watch "Howdy-Doody" and the Big Top Circus with her. Sometimes we'd eat popcorn. At our place when there were enough of us to play, we'd all have a big corn cob fight. We'd divide up in two teams and have a free-for-all with those corn cobs. I bet you never thought your mom would do something as unladylike as that. We really had a lot of fun. She played mediator at times, too. Two of my older brothers who were more her age, got a red wagon for Christmas one year. Naturally, they got into a squabble over who was going to play with the wagon, so Betty Jo played King Solomon. She said, Well, why don't you just saw it in two so one of you each will have half." Lo and behold, they took it to Daddy's shop and did just that! Yes, we had lots of fun back then. The last time I spoke to her she was having hospice in. I knew she did not feel well. I really am sorry to hear of her passing and I hope she did not suffer. She is fine now and will be waiting for all of you at heaven's gate.

Although time and distance separated us over the years, Betty Jo and I reconnected in later years through the internet. I have wonderful childhood and teenage memories of Betty Jo, and her visiting with my Aunt Ida and Uncle Will whenever the families got together.
She will be missed, but I know she is in the arms of the Lord and no longer suffering. Rest in peace.
