I met you on November 16, 1988 at the Culpeper High School Fall Sports Banquet, the night Lee and I started dating. My first thought was - man what a ‘stache! But behind that stache was the most loving, kindhearted and absolutely funny men I had ever met! You became one of my dads almost immediately and especially after my own dad passed - you did not hesitate to take that honor for me! You were not only my father in law, but a dad, a friend and a few times a “set ‘er straighter”! I will always love you Pap and I will just look forward to the day that we get to see each other again - so I can give you a great big hug and a banana!

Our pappy was the strongest ever! Whenever I think of Pap I can smell a fresh cup of coffee, a Debbie cake, and some freshly chopped wood. He had the biggest heart of anyone I’d ever known. Pappy brought kindness and love into the lives of everyone he met. So many people, including me, are better because they knew him. He will be greatly missed. I love you Pappy. ❤️
