Kenneth Eugene Sanders, 91 years old, of Willisburg, KY, widower of Katherine Phillips Sanders, died May 17, 2024 at his home and birthplace in Tablow, KY. Kenneth was born in Willisburg KY to Owen and Annabelle (Royalty) Sanders on January 21, 1933. He went to high school at Harrodsburg High School and graduated in 1952. He was a veteran of the Korean War and stationed at Patrick Air Force Base in FL. He was a retired employee of Corning Glass in Harrodsburg, KY, having worked for 34 years. Kenneth enjoyed bird watching, crossword puzzles, photography, gardening, farming, nature, scientific magazines, books and television shows. Kenneth is survived by: five children, Patricia (Roger) Reed, Kelly (Aaron) Uhrig, Julia (Andy) Todd, Jo (Larry) Woodson and Jane (Darrell) Coffman; four sisters, Peggy (Jerry) Burns, Frances Sanders, Donna Sanders and Becky Gooch; one brother RC (Judy) Sanders; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Morgan Reed, Asa Uhrig, Jordyn (Ameen) Mesmar and Miles Coffman; three great grandchildren, Liam Reed, Myla Montelongo and Camille Mesmar; special caregiver, Melissa Renfro. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Walcott, Debbie Sadler, and JoAnn Burton, and a brother, Harold Sanders. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 1 PM, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY, by Matt Fish, his friend and healthcare provider. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to Hosparus of Green River 462 N Bypass Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718.
