Back in 2002 Jeff was managing and crew chief the R&P dirt late model race team owned by Danny Preston I think I worked in the county and had stopped by race shop to visit with him I had known Jeff from racing myself and we had become friends over the years always tried to learn from his knowledge he always had a way about him when he spoke you took interest in whether it was serious or if he was telling a big tale anyways I became sick all of a sudden and he says I’m taking you to hospital he said Larry you’re having a heart attack he was right ended up in Lexington the next day with stints put in I’ve never forgotten what my friend done for me that’s Jeff he would help anyone anytime anywhere just a great friend and I’m truly sorry for Marsha’s loss and his children and grand children

Q: How did you meet Jeffery?
A: I coached Jeff in Jr. Pro Basketball as a 6-8 grader and always loved being around him. Anytime I saw Jeff since then he would have a big smile and remember me and get to talk a bit. My prayers are for Jeff’s wife and family!!

We sure spent a lot of time together on the road. Let me say I will treasure those memories forever. I would say the trip in 2004 to Florida racing is my greatest memory. You leading the race team to the 2004 winter nationals. My heart is broken today, but I will always remember you. Thanks for the good times.
