Major (R) Hollis DeWayne “Wayne” Isham, age 50, Wellaway Place, Harrodsburg, husband of Anjam Malik, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in, Lexington, KY. Born April 8, 1957 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of C.H. and Barbara Jane (Parson) Isham. He was a retired Major for the US Army and assistant professor of military science at Morehead State University where he was named Military Science Instructor of the Year and a member of the Eller’s Memorial Baptist Church. Wayne had a very distinguished military career, from Platoon leader at Ft. Riley, KS; Theater Intelligence Watch Officer/Strategic Analyst at Camp Smith, HI; Brigade Intel Officer, Company Commander and Battalion Operations Officer at Ft. Ord, CA; Combat Support Branch Chief and Military Intelligence Systems Manager in Alexandria, VA; multiple positions with the Defense Intelligence Agency and Pentagon. Survivors include: his wife: Anjam Malik, Alexandria, VA; his parents C.H. & Barbara Isham; Special Aunt and Cousin: Peggy and Robin Lewis all of Harrodsburg, KY. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM, Sunday, February 3 at the Harrodsburg Christian Church by Travis Farris and Mark Thomas. Burial with military honors will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: ROTC Members. Honorary Bearers: Billy Matherly, Ernie Sapp, Ralph Rogers Jr., William David Rogers, Jimmy Baxter, Danny Yates, Gill Spawn, Lonnie Campbell, Lucinda Leonard and Deidra Patton, Visitation will be Saturday, February 2 after 5:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY and Sunday 1 pm until the hour of service at Church.
